Last week we offered great tips on updating your social media – the place where current and prospective clients see your business personality! (Read the post HERE.) This week, we’re moving on to another prominent place where customers will find you – your website!
Real talk, your website is your digital storefront and the anchor for your online presence. Your potential customer clicks on one of your amazing google ads (pssst… we do those) bringing them to your website… but your site takes forever to load, your images are dull, and they click on a link but it’s broken. These all are possible situations that are easy to fix, but detrimental if you get caught off guard. Do yourself a favor and open your website on your phone, computer and tablet. Think as a customer and really take a hard look by asking yourself these questions:
1 – Is your contact info up to date and easy to find? Do your links work? ( page links, social media, contact form, etc.)
According to Google 61% of users are unlikely to return to a site on mobile if they had trouble accessing it and 41% visit a competitor’s site instead!
2 – Are your images fresh and eye catching?
Simply changing up your images can have a big impact on how long users stay on your site. Make sure the images are representative, relevant, and sized appropriately!
3 – How recent is your content? (blog, descriptions, etc.)
Keeping your content fresh does amazing things for your SEO; you should be updating your blog at a minimum of once per month (click HERE for some fresh blog ideas)! The more content you have, the more likely you will be found – and keeping your content relevant and helpful keeps those customers coming back.
Each of these questions are critical to your clients user experience and their perception of your business. If you answered no or unfavorably to any of these questions it’s ok, just fix those links, update your images, and get your blog on! (Read how to become a master at blogging HERE)
